That article cited a paper from 2014 that examined cold weather mortality trends from 1984 to 2007. This showed an association with cold weather and increased mortality but this could be for a number of reasons incl air pollution, not just fuel poverty 3/6

@dkellyj @SodEvent @torban69 that kind of money often not there so blanket ban would mean no heating. Already significant fuel poverty issue here even compared to North. Not to mention amount of rural houses that would be exorbitantly expensive to retrofit
